Music Therapy

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional as defined by the American Music Therapy Association.

Our Harmony Program, led by a licensed music therapist,  uses music improvisation, receptive music listening, lyric discussion, and music performance to promote emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills of our residents.

Using music therapy with our residents has helped them better maintain functioning levels as well as improve quality of life.  We reunite our residents with their musical talents and allow for creative expression, increased self-esteem, and achievement of personal growth.

Check out our activity calendar to view our upcoming music therapy sessions.

Terra Vista welcomes all generations to volunteer their music talents too!
